ProfeLAC JERSEY Medicated Calf Milk Replacer

ProfeLAC JERSEY has been specifically formulated for Jersey calves, however, it is suitable for other calves with the exception of Beef calves on antimicrobial-free programs due to the product containing Bovatec®. ProfeLAC JERSEY is also recommended in very cold climates as the additional fat aids the calf in defending against the cold.

USAGE RECOMMENDATIONS

For best results, add ProfeLAC JERSEY to half the required volume of warm water. Mix thoroughly, and once fully dissolved, add the remaining water to achieve the desired volume. Feed at approximately 38°C. Do not feed above 40°C.

MIXING SUGGESTION

To support calf growth and health, research suggests feeding approximately 1.5% of the calf’s bodyweight as solids. Accordingly, we recommend calculating the desired target Dry Matter Intake (DMI) and then determining the mix rate (solids concentration) and feed volume from there. The table below is a guide.

DAILY CALF DMI (AS MILK) TARGETS FOR 1.5% BODYWEIGHT

Baby Jersey calves are smaller in size, and therefore, smaller meals more often are preferable. Accordingly, ProviCo Rural recommends 3+ feeds per day for the first 14 days of life, which is also preferable.

AVOID

Feeding over 1.1kg solids per day to Holsteins.
Feeding over 0.9kg solids per day to Jerseys.
Feeding solids in concentrations above 15% DM.

From here, simply divide the target litres/day by the number of feeds per day. ProviCo Rural does not support once-a-day feeding practices, as they are not in the best interests of the calf.

Only feed ProfeLAC JERSEY to Dairy or Beef Calves. ProfeLAC JERSEY contains Bovatec, DO NOT FEED to Dogs or Horses.
